Where Can I Learn?
A few to get you started!
You can comfortably edge your way onto the dance floor with a few beginning Salsa classes. It's a great way to learn the basics among folks who (like you) want to master a few moves and make some friends in the process.
Get a little more intense exercise, checking out Salsa workshops. These are offered at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels teaching you new patterns and technique, by building upon a core set of basics to increase your confidence.
And, there's no need to get frustrated if you're not picking it up immediately. Like any new skill, it takes time, practice and a healthy sense of humor. Have fun with it!!!

On the eve of the 7th Annual San Francisco Bay Area International Salsa Congress, we are thrilled to have DJ Frank joining us. Though centered in the Los Angeles salsa community, Frank is a well known figure in the SF Bay Area salsa scene, as well. It is a testament to his broad popularity that he has been invited to be among the line-up of Congress spin maters, that also include: DJ Fab Fred, DJ BoriQua, DJ El dela Clave, DJ Super Chino and DJ Edmundo; along with DJ Lobo from L.A. and DJ Nick from Boston.

Looks like a lot of fun! Can't wait until my girlfriend arrives from Florida. I will take her out for a spin.
all the resources at one place for all Salsa lovers. This dance form is getting popular in Indian movies. One of my favorite actress missed a movie for not having enough expertise in salsa. good quality hub.
Great Hub! Thanks for sharing. Salsa dancing looks awesome when done just right.
Nicely put together hub.
regards Zsuzsy
Wow! Fantastic hub...I didn't realize there were so many opportunities beyond a little friday night social dancing, and the entertainment is amazing. Can you post a calendar of performances for these dancers?
I first saw Giju perform at Alberto's in Mountain View this past January...what an amazing talent! My friends and I bought his CD and watched the music video on YouTube about a zillion times! We actually recognized some of the dancers from Salsa workshops we'd attended. That was so COOL. It's funny how you can live right here in Silicon Valley and not really realize the great entertainment and depth of talent that exists just an arms-length away. Thanks for sharing. ;-)
"My wife and have gone to PB&G's Hot Salsa Friday quite a few times...but we had NO idea they were a world-ranked Salsa group. The video clip you posted here is the first time I've actually seen them perform!!. How can we see them and other dancers you posted here perform live?"
Love your Salsa Hub, Evolving1...It supports the big contributors to Salsa in the Bay Area, but at the same time provides fun and entertaining content I haven't seen before. I was just going to suggest that you could add the city for each club - so people can easily find the one that's in their area.
Great info! Nice to see you note specific places to go in San Francisco area! Lived there 6 years before moving to desert SoCal lands! Still miss Bay Area so much! Keep writing about SALSA!
